Apple Announces New iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iOS 7 Release Date

On Tuesday, Apple unveiled its upcoming series of smartphone at a press event conducted in Apple headquarters in Cupertino, Calif. The Apple’s chief in the even announced its new iPhone5S and iPhone5C. The tech giant, accepted that the new iPhone 5C alongside the iPhone 5S will be the lowest phones.


In the event, Apple senior vice president Phil Schiller – introduced iPhone 5C. The new iPhone device is having plastic body with a 4 inch display. It has very hard-coated polycarbonate design which is steel reinforced and has a multi-band antenna. To attract more customers, company is introducing five colors: green, white, blue, pink, and yellow.

It’s announced that iPhone 5C will cost $99 for a 16GB model or $199 for a 32 GB model, with contracts. A colorful variety of cases will cost $29. The iPhone 5C will go on sale on Sept. 20, with pre-orders starting on Sept. 13.

The second phone device launched was iPhone 5S. It is having 4-inch display. The hardware is upgraded with latest A7 chip, and it’s been added first time in smartphone which is having 64-bits. In the event, Schiller said the new iPhone 5S's CPU performs 40 times faster than the original iPhone.

Along with this the new iPhone also includes a brand new chip called the M7, which is said to continuously measure motion data. The chip supports the accelerometer, gyroscope and compass. The device will be having better battery life, that is of 10 hours of LTE and Wi-Fi browsing, 40 hours of music and 250 hours of standby time.

The new iPhone 5S will be coming with three models: 16 GB for $199, 32GB for $299 and 64GB for $399, with a contract. The phone will go on sale on Sept. 20.

In the event, Apple had also announced details of completely redesigned mobile operating system, iOS 7 that will be ready for download on Sept. 18.
